My paper "Skipping the real world: Classification of PolSAR images without explicit feature extraction" has been accepted by ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
Both, the tutorial "Machine Learning in Remote Sensing" as well as the invited session "Data Fusion" have been accepted at the upcoming IGARSS 2018.
Two papers submitted to VISAPP 2018 have been accepted: "Towards Image Colorization with Random Forests" and "Leveraging the Spatial Label Structure for Semantic Image Labeling using Random Forests".
I will act as Publication Chair for the upcoming 3DV 2018.
The ISPRS workshop PhotoGA17 at the GeoSpatial Week has finished very successful with many interesting talks and a large and active audience.
I've been awarded with a scholarship of the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme. From November 2017 to January 2018 I will work at TokyoTech at the Okutomi Lab.
With more than 50 participants the tutorial "Machine Learning in Remote Sensing" IGARSS 2017 has been very successful.
I've been selected to co-chair the Technical Committee "Image Analysis and Data Fusion" of the GRSS for the next two years.
My paper entitled "Correct and still wrong: The relationship between sampling strategies and the estimation of the generalization error" has been accepted as oral presentation at IGARSS 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
